HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PLAYING GUITAR? 8 years.
WHAT KIND OF GUITARS/AMPS DO YOU PLAY?
I've got a Samick Les Paul Standard with Gibson alnico pickups (490R and 498T); customized Charvel neck-thru with Gibson ceramic pickups (498R and 500T); Peavey Wolfgang Standard; Jackson Rhoads V with Seymour Duncan pickups; a Fender Standard Strat; Washburn D-10 acoustic/electric cutaway; Alvarez 12-string acoustic. I play Peavey 5150 and Marshall JCM 900 heads through Marshall 1960A 4x12 cabs and lot's o' different stomp boxes and miscellaneous effects, which include but are not limited to: Boss, MXR, and Dunlop.
HOW DID YOU FIRST START PLAYING GUITAR?
I bought a copy of Metallica's Ride the Lightning and taught myself how to play "Fade to Black." Ever since then I haven't been able to put a guitar down. I got hooked on a heavy dose of Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, and Tourniquet.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF MUSIC TO LISTEN TO?
I listen to a variety of musical styles. I love real heavy metal, blues, southern rock, and country. I've developed a unique style due to my many influences.
WHO ARE YOUR MAJOR INFLUENCES?
James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Dave Mustaine, Marty Friedman, Al Pitrelli, Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, Janick Gers, Zakk Wylde, Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee, Slash, Scotty Hill, Warren D. Martini, Mick Mars, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, SRV, Johnny Lang, Eric Clapton, Angus Young, Eddie Van Halen, Mark Tremonti, Lenny Kravitz, Joe Walsh, B.B. King, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson...
WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE BANDS?
Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Tourniquet, Van Halen, Zeppelin, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Skid Row, Motley Crue, AC/DC, The Eagles (yes, that's right), Black Label Society, Creed, Corrosion of Conformity, Poison, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Saigon Kick, Quiet Riot, Pink Floyd, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Scorpions...
WHO ARE YOUR HEROES?
Homer Simpson and Hank Hill, although I've never really thought of anyone as a hero.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST BAND?
What were we called then? "Enigma!" Where did we get that name?
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST GIG?
Either at the Williamsport Fire Hall or North Hagerstown High School's "Battle of the Bands." I can't remember which! 1996 was a long time ago.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST MEMORABLE GIG?
Frederick Community College's "Spring Fling." We had a lot of fun at that gig.
OTHER BANDS YOU'VE PLAYED WITH?
This is the only band I've been in, but we've had a lot of names and many members who have come and gone.
ANY TATTOOS OR PIERCINGS?
Not a one.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
Play guitar, duh! Lots o' huntin' an' feeshin'! I love meeting wild animals and fish, talking to them, and then killing them and putting them on the dinner table. The "Nuge" is also one my heroes, can you tell? I also grow a big fuzzy chin bush like a chia pet. Maybe that's why I'm single.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
I look like a big teddy bear, but if you tick me off, I'll pummel you my big furry paws. Or something like that. By the way, I'm a guitarist in a band that's out for world domination. Guess you figured that out by now.
